Well, today was my first Ale House shift by myself.
It went great. I messed up a couple of times during my 14 hour shift, so overall my record was pretty good. I made $85, after I tipped out the busser, expo, bar, and God (tithe). It was pretty slow, but I'm glad, because I was able to get the hang of things without freaking out over a busy restaurant. I got screwed on two tables, and got about a 7% tip from an elderly couple who raved about my good service and said God bless in parting. I wasn't mad though. I'm sure they had no clue that they gave me a horrible tip, either that or they wanted to tip me in words.
I'm picking up a ton of shifts here and there. I picked up the lunch and dinner shift today. I'm working one person's shift tomorrow night, and on Monday I picked up another couple of shifts. I had 14 hours today, I'll have about 7 tomorrow, and I'll have about 14 the day after. I'll probably just work until I hit 40 hours.
I'm aware this is extremely dull information, and on any given day, it will be about the same report. I will most likely get screwed by a few tables. I will probably make a good amount of money. I will probably be working long shifts, and so on. So instead of just repeating myself, I thought I'd explain my day so that whenever I say that I worked, you'll pretty much know what I'm talking about.
Have a merry Spring Break for those of you who are also out of school for the week.
