There are two main reasons why I'm not a big fan of sarcasm.
#1 I suck at using it.
To those of you who know me, I'm not a very sarcastic person. I say what I mean, and I don't really beat around the bush (I'm not sure where this term came from or why it means what it does). Like I've already shown in my past entry, as I read what I had written, I thought it was a brilliant use of sarcasm, and would get a few laughs. Later to find out that I should just give up trying to be sarcastic all together. "Wrote myself two blog entries and broke down crying" or "burning in jealousy," funny right? Ah well. I think I'll just stick to being brutally honest and saying what I mean from now on. Sorry for completely confusing everyone.
#2 I suck at picking up on it
I like people who are blunt and can say exactly what they mean. I love my brother's wife Jenn, and anyone who knows her, also knows that she rocks at being blunt. I love her simplistic way of stating things that takes you a few minutes to realize that you actually heard what you just heard. I spent a month in Ireland, and those of you who have been over there in your early teenage years at a camp in Ovoca which is outside of Dublin, then you would know that Irish teenagers are ridiculously sarcastic. The Irish language became untranslatable to me during the time I was there. It wasn't because I couldn't understand the words that were coming out of their mouth, but because not only was I not familiar with their culture, but they would always say one thing and mean another. It just ended up pissing me off most of the time.
So in conclusion. I should stick to what I'm good at. I shouldn't try and be someone I'm not, which is the overall consensus from my brother and my comments. I've got to believe that God didn't make me someone other than who he wanted me be.
Well, if God made me this way, then that's who I am.
